Can this application run in Linux?

This application has never been intended for any other operating system but Windows. However, user community has found that it can be launched in Wine under Linux. Here are two tips to allow for flawless running.

• MFC 4.2 library must be installed in Wine using the following command:

  winetricks mfc42

  To allow access to internal floppy drives, RIDE must run on old computers with sometimes very limited resources. It therefore relies on this legacy Microsoft library that has been always present in default installations since Windows 98.

• Gecko browser engine must be installed in Wine using the following command:

  sudo apt-get install wine-gecko

  RIDE uses HTML to format various reports, e.g. about disk dump or disk verification. It also uses it to format read-only previews of some files, e.g. program listing or assembler listing.
